Facts about the SAT/ACT exam and Covid-19

  • There are 5,300 4-year colleges and universities in the US.
  • So far about 40 have temporarily suspended SAT/ACT entrance exam requirement for fall 2021 owing to Covid-19.
  • Of those 40 schools, most are private and small, but the largest by far are the 9 undergrad schools in the UC system in California.
  • Even though the requirement is suspended at those 40 schools, it is still in full affect at the remainder of colleges and universities.
  • Also, even if a student is applying to one of the 40 schools that have temporarily suspended the requirement, students can still submit a good SAT/ACT score for consideration and it will assist their application.
  • If you have any questions, you should directly contact the admissions office at the college or university to which you are applying.
